oral surgery procedures / icat 3D scanning
Associates In Oral and Facial Surgery offers our patients this state-of-the-art imaging system. Blending innovation with patient comfort, when indicated, this technology gives our doctors the opportunity to more thoroughly analyze bone structure, tooth orientation, and joint space and to detect and evaluate deformities and pathologies.
For Dental Implants
i-CAT™ images can optimize implant treatment and placement and the selection of the most suitable implant type, size, location, and angulations prior to implant surgery.
They can assist in determining if bone grafting or a sinus lift is warranted in areas of insufficient bone.
For Extractions
Images are used in determining more precise tooth position in order to visualize impaction within the alveolar bone, the location relative to adjacent teeth, and the proximity to vital structures, such as the nerve canal, sinus walls, and cortical borders.
For TMJ Disfunction
The i-CAT’s™ ability to provide three-dimensional images of the condyles and surrounding structures allows for complete analysis and diagnosis of bone morphology, joint space, and function—all critical to evaluating TMJ dysfunction, treatment, and care.
To Detect and Evaluate Problems within the Jaw
The images accurately measure bone and jaw deformities, cleft palates, assess bone lesions and changes of the jaw, and detect other pathologies, such as cysts, tumors, and disease.
